Ladies Rosary Society
Almost from the very beginning of the establishment of St. Gabriel Church as a parish, the Ladies Rosary Societty membership has been committed to its spiritual, social and physical welfare. Over the years the Rosary Society has been guided by ladies whose hearts of service sought to assist the pastor. Once the pastor identified needs, the officers enlisted the aid of the general membership and organized themselves to achieve their identified goals.Their mission included spiritual activities such as praying the rosary and holding retreats for their membership as well rolling up their sleeves to keep the sanctuary and the nave washed, dusted and clean. They washed and starched liturgical garments and linens, they removed wax from candle holders. They sewed baptismal garments and kept the edges of servers and priestly garments in order. Anything that needed attention inside the church, the women were up to it.
